Mali nightclub attack kills five in Bamako
Five people have been killed in a machine-gun and grenade attack on a nightclub in Mali's capital Bamako.A BBC correspondent at the scene said a French national was shot dead at the bar. Two Malian men were killed as the gunmen fled the scene.
A Belgian man died when a grenade was thrown at his car in a nearby street. A third European died in hospital.
Witnesses said the attackers shouted "God is Great" in Arabic ("Allahu Akbar").
A senior intelligence official told Reuters news agency that two people connected to the incident had been arrested.
French President Francois Hollande strongly condemned Saturday's "cowardly attack".

Liberia releases last Ebola patient
Liberia has released its last Ebola patient and begun its countdown to being declared Ebola free.
"I am one of the happiest human beings today on earth because it was not easy going through this situation and coming out alive," 58-year old English teacher Beatrice Yardolo told the AP news agency after her release.
She kept thanking God and the health workers at the Chinese-run Ebola treatment centre in the Paynesville district of Monrovia, where she was admitted on February 18.
Her release came as the World Health Organisation (WHO) announced that Liberia had gone a week without reporting any new cases of Ebola - for the first time since last May.

ISIS bulldozes,ruins ancient Assyrian city of Nimrud
ISIS has again destroyed cultural treasures, this time bulldozing the site of the ancient Assyrian city of Nimrud in northern Iraq, the nation's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said.
"ISIS continues to defy the will of the world and the feelings of humanity," the ministry said in a statement. "They violated the ancient city of Nimrud and bulldozed its ancient ruins."
The extent of the damage wasn't immediately clear, according to Iraq's state broadcaster Iraqiya TV.
"Our ministry condemns these criminal acts," the statement said. "Letting these lost gangs go without punishment will encourage them to destroy humanity's civilization, the Mesopotamian civilization, inflicting irreversible priceless damages and losses."

Five Kano Pillars players have been shot by gunmen in an attack on the club's entourage as they travelled to Owerri for the start of the new Nigerian Premier League season.
"Five players were injured from gunshots - Gambo, Ogbonaya, Eneji Otekpa, Murtala Adamu, and Moses Ekpai," the club wrote on Twitter.
"The gunmen also snatched handsets and other valuables from the players".Saturday's match against Heartland has been postponed indefinitely.Kano were travelling in a bus carrying 25 people, including 18 players, when the incident occurred at about 13:15 local time.

Surrender or face death, Chadian President warns Shekau
President Idriss Deby of Chad on Wednesday called on Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, to surrender or face death.
Derby told a news conference in N’djamena, that he knows the whereabouts of Shekau, who, according to him, was sighted in Dikwa , a village in Borno State two days ago.
“Abubakar Shekau must surrender. We know where he is. If he doesn’t give himself up he will suffer the same fate as his compatriots,” he said.
“He (Shekau) was in Dikwa two days ago. He managed to get away but we know where he is. It’s in his interests to surrender,” Deby added.

Earl Lloyd, First Black Player In The NBA, Dead At 86
Earl Lloyd, the first black player in NBA history, died Thursday. He was 86.
Lloyd's alma mater, West Virginia State, confirmed the death. It did not provide details.
Lloyd made his NBA debut in 1950 for the Washington Capitals, just before fellow black players Sweetwater Clifton and Chuck Cooper played their first games.
"The State family mourns the loss of a fellow Yellow Jacket and trailblazer who was a true champion both on and off of the basketball court," West Virginia State President Brian Hemphill said in a statement.
