CR7 full Ballon d'Or acceptance speech

The Portuguese won his third title, being voted as the best player in 2014 in front of Barcelona's Lionel Messi and World Cup winner Manuel Neuer

Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his gratitude to all those that voted for him, as well as the Real Madrid hierarchy, after claiming his third Ballon d'Or trophy.

The Portuguese was voted as the best player in the world throughout 2014, beating Lionel Messi and Manuel Neuer to the gong.
In his acceptance speech, Ronaldo thanked Carlo Ancelotti and his Real Madrid team-mates, as well as his family for helping him to achieve the award.

He said: "I would like to thank all those that voted for me, my coach, my fellow players and the president of Real Madrid. It's been an unforgettable year.

"To win this trophy is something unique. All I can say is that I want to continue working as I have so far and try to go on to more titles, individually and a team, for my mother, for my father and for my son.

"I want to try to improve and get better as each day goes by. I would like to say to all the Portuguese that I never thought I would win this trophy on three different occasions.

"Of course, it is something that is always with me, I want to become one of the greatest players of all time. I would like to thank all of you, I hope you all had a wonderful evening."

Ronaldo then let out a strange yelp, before being joined on stage by his son.

The Los Blancos superstar helped Real to the Copa Del Rey and a tenth European cup in 2014.

Despite being widely regarded as the two best players in the world, England manager Roy Hodgson left both Ronaldo and Messi off his top three for the Ballon d'Or, instead opting for Javier Mascherano as his pick for the winner.
